Cistercian route hike from Poblet Monastery to the Vallbona De Las Monjas Monastery, Catalunya

For my 4th mission on the Catalunya Challenge I had to deliver a food basket from the Poblet Monastery to the Vallbona de Las Monjas Monastery just like they did back in the days...

On foot.

This meant I had to hike 25 km on the Cistercian route with a heavy food basket under the sun! Quite the task but I do like a good walk :-)

The entire journey actually reminded me about me Camino de Santiago adventure 7 years ago and brought back some sweet memories. Not only that, then entire walk was very relaxing and beautiful.

My day started at the #Poblet monestary. One of the most important monestaries in Spain since 8 kings and 6 queens are buried here. It's quite the architectural marvel as well since it combines Roman, Gothic and Baroque styles. The moment where the Holy Spirit called out to me and told me to deliver a basket of vegetables from the #cistercian monks of the #Poblet Monestary's organic garden to the sisters of #VallbonadelesMonges 25 km away, following the #Cistercianroute on foot... 😉 You don't say no to that so I collected a basket and hit the road. #DestinationChallenges with @catalunyaexperience #CatalunyaExperience

Hiking the #Cistercianroute reminded me so much about that time I hiked #caminodesantiago. That's exactly 7 years ago now. Such beautiful memories and very happy to do a proper hike again. It really forces you to be in the moment. Got to actually deliver it in person to one of the Sisters of #VallbonadelesMonges. She had so much serenity around her and that spark in her eye. A beautiful person.
