Tunisia decided to put my friends and followers and I to the test on a second Tunisia Challenge.

This time it would take place in the South of Tunisia near Tozeur & Douz which are towns located close to the Sahara desert.

To recharge my batteries after a successful second Tunisia challenge I paid a visit to Sidi Bou Said one of the prettiest towns in Tunisia.

a date with Dates in Tunisia

It's in Tozeur that I had a date with Dates at the Eden Palm 'oasis'.

I learned that Dates are the fruit of a palm tree, I had no clue to be honest, and that it had a huge influence on the history of trading around the Mediterranean. Very interesting to learn that palm trees are integrated in many powerful ancient symbols because of its significance in that time.

Today Dates are used in a variety of deliciousness. I helped preparing some date jam while I was at it... :-)

Baking bread aka 'Pain de sable' in the Sahara desert in Tunisia

Never thought I'd be baking bread in the middle of the desert. :-)

On my 4th mission during the Tunisia Challenge I got taught by a Bedouin, desert nomad and I have to tell you the bread was, to my surprise, delicious! I was absolutely fascinated by the entire process.

Into the deserts of Douz & Chott El Djerid I went!

Did you know they have different types of deserts? I had an absolute blast exploring all of them. Even had a little 'Into the wild' moment in the middle of a salt flat desert. Tunisia desert fun alright!

Today I walked into the desert of Tunisia in search of a portal that would lead me to Tatooine aka Mos Espa, a planet in a galaxy far far away where I'd meet a man called Anakin who'd tell me all about Star Wars...

Tozeur bricks manufacturing in Tunisia

My second Tunisia Challenge took place around Tozeur, a desert town in the South of Tunisia.

On my first mission I had to help make the famous yellow brick of Tozeur. The bricks are hand made and used in all buildings you find in the area which gives it its distinct look.

This mission under the burning sun just filled me with awe and respect for the workers making them on a daily basis. Such hard labour!
