Indonesian food cooking class at Marché 010 in Rotterdam

Ryan, 'le sac a dos' and I made our way to Marché 010 a brand new indoor food market that opened on the 15th of August 2017. Our first Destination Challenge in Rotterdam was to prepare an Indonesian food dish. Luckily we had Jerry by our side to show us the Indonesian way.

Together we prepared Ayam Suwir aka pulled chicken. We had a fun time preparing it and the eating part was even better. Absolutely delicious.

Who else is a fan of Indonesian food and what's your favourite dish? Let us know in the comments below ;-)

Watch our little oriental cooking adventure here. 😉

a date with Dates in Tunisia

It's in Tozeur that I had a date with Dates at the Eden Palm 'oasis'.

I learned that Dates are the fruit of a palm tree, I had no clue to be honest, and that it had a huge influence on the history of trading around the Mediterranean. Very interesting to learn that palm trees are integrated in many powerful ancient symbols because of its significance in that time.

Today Dates are used in a variety of deliciousness. I helped preparing some date jam while I was at it... :-)

Find out how it's done below... ;-)

Finding truffles with dogs in the Prades Mountains of Catalonia

Finding truffles with dogs in the Prades Mountains of Catalonia

Finding truffles in the wild was an absolute first and a beautiful experience. This was my 3rd mission on my Catalunya Challenge.

I initially thought I'd go truffle hunting with pigs which is the traditional way to do it but I ended up exploring the woods around the Prades mountain with 3 very skilled dogs owned by Didac Tofona together with Xavier my host at Camping Serra de Prades.

To my surprise the dogs found the truffles incredibly fast! I spent the entire day learning everything about truffles and we even enjoyed some the traditional way in the middle of the forest. I even digged up a truffles nest. You can find my YouTube video about that and some truffle fun facts below in the post.

Want to know how to find truffles yourself? Just get in touch with Didac on his 'Tofona de la Conca' website

Discovering the local delicacy 'Curiles' on Tiger Island in Honduras

Curiles at Tiger Island, Isla del Tigre in Honduras

My last Destination Challenges in Honduras brought me to a stunning volcano island called Isla del Tigre also know as Tiger Island where I discovered a local delicacy called 'Curiles'.

It's a tiny mussel that you can only eat for 24 hours after its catch. You usually share a plate with friends on the beach and have an ice cold beer on the side ;-)

The perfect way to end this fantastic adventure in Honduras...

I'll be back!

Mixing cocktails at cocktail bar Eliksir in Gdansk

My last mission on the Gdansk Challenge took place at Eliksir, a high end cocktail bar in Gdansk. I had to create my own cocktail with the help of cocktail master Grzegorz Nowicki.

The man has a passion for cocktails and is recognized as one of the best cocktail makers/shakers in Poland and beyond.

He showed me some of his own creations and helped me create the 'Social Cocktail' that you of course share with friends. It's been a pleasure learning from this epic team and I invited some friends and followers from Gdansk to join the party for some refreshing and delish cocktails!

Good times. :-)

How to prepare Lapin Tournaisiens aka Rabbit with Prunes

My last mission on the Tournai Challenge was mostly taking place in the kitchen of my hostel in Tournai. I had to prepare a local dish called 'Lapin Tournaisiens' which translates to 'Rabbit with prunes' in english.

Julien my Tournai buddy knew how it's done and even brought a rabbit with him! We had the local beer from Brasserie de Cazeau so we only needed a few more ingredients.

We invited people to join us for dinner and prepared them a 'Lapin Tournaisiens' they'll never forget. Made with love, dedication and beer :-)

Wanna know how to prepare this delish dish then just check out the video below ;-) If you ever decide to make it please share your experience or some pictures with us in the comments below ;-)
