2017 has been absolutely spectacular!

I got to experience many road trip adventures with new found friends, visited 13 countries on 3 continents, tackled 55 Destination challenges in 6 countries, found love in Belgium with Babette and shipped my 'other love' Rose :-) to Belgium so we can road trip around Europe in 2018.

How to prepare Lapin Tournaisiens aka Rabbit with Prunes

My last mission on the Tournai Challenge was mostly taking place in the kitchen of my hostel in Tournai. I had to prepare a local dish called 'Lapin Tournaisiens' which translates to 'Rabbit with prunes' in english.

Julien my Tournai buddy knew how it's done and even brought a rabbit with him! We had the local beer from Brasserie de Cazeau so we only needed a few more ingredients.

We invited people to join us for dinner and prepared them a 'Lapin Tournaisiens' they'll never forget. Made with love, dedication and beer :-)

Brewing Tournay at Brasserie de Cazeau in Tournai, Belgium

Beer. My 4th mission at the Tournai Challenge was about beer, Belgian beer!
This as you can see put a big smile on my face :-)

I had to find local brewery Brasserie de Cazeau where I had to help brew a Tournay beer.

Awesomeness!

My Tournai buddy Julien offered me a ride to the brewery where we tasted a few of the brews together. As you do ;-)

ABBA reunion at the soccer game Belgium vs Sweden in Tournai, Belgium

'Find 3 people to bring ABBA back to life and perform the song Waterloo in front of thousands of Belgian soccer fans before the live game Belgium VS Sweden starts on a square in the center of the city', that was my first mission in Tournai.

Not. That. Easy!

Luckily I managed to convince Julien, a Tournisien whom I met a few weeks before at the Travel Story Telling festival in Brussels and I also managed to get Alexandra, a dear friend from Brussels, on board. So we were just one woman short to bring ABBA back to life.

Julien and I hit the streets of Tournai in search of her. We went from terrace to terrace and when we almost were gonna give up we found the perfect candidate at the last terrace in the city. We met Beverly and her boyfriend and she was immediately up for the challenge.

IT WAS ON!

I went to a carnaval shop to get the outfits for everybody and we had an absolutely epic time putting on a little show...

Moments in Leuven

Oh Leuven... This beautiful student town in Belgium suprised me in so many ways. There's really something new to discover around every corner. Leuven isn't very big so it's easy do discover the town by foot. Don't forget your camera though...
