Moments in Ghent



Ghent is a dream for photographers. Here are some of my favorite moments in this beautiful city.







• #BIGcc with @visitgent • Yes! A beer mission in Ghent. Here it goes: 'What was the name of a great beer that was used in Ghent and Kortrijk and was recovered in the tax accounts of 1502 to 1622 , in particular the 'handtboucken van ongeld en accijnsen’ .  Yearly Ghent produced 30000 tons of that beer during that period. Ghent’s rich brewing history unfortunately almost completely disappeared.  After the closure of the major breweries in Ghent in the 60-70’s (Aigle Belgica , Ultra, Excelsior , Meiresonne) literally none of the 300 breweries in  Ghent survived. Since 2009, however, this changed with Stadsbrouwerij Gruut. Finally the city has once again an active brewery within the city limits.  With the advent of The Brewery 6 Helmen and the beer we’re looking for Ghent will be a genuine and top beer town again! Find the beer and have at least one!'
