My tandem buddy Clinton and I visited the Sa Pa region during my tandem challenge. Clinton and I decided to go on a Minsk Motorbike adventure from Hanoi to Sa Pa and back. At that time I was still looking for a charity to support in Vietnam.

Once we arrived we were looking for a place to stay so we started asking people for some recommendations. We bumped into Andy Illingworth and he clearly knew the region well. He told us to stay at Queen hotel a budget friendly place in the center. He also told us to go for a coffee at the Sapa O'Chau café that he works at...

Village Health and Community Development project in Cambodia

Village Health and Community Development is the third charity project that I support. It's located in Cambodia and I visited it during my Tandem Challenge. I went there with +Hannah Jewitt whom I met at a hostel in Phnom Penh. It was quite an adventure to get there and also our stay in the little village was quite remarkable.

But let me tell you about the project. It was introduced to me by +Tahlia Seymour whom I met 2 years before in Morocco. She herself invested a lot of time and money in the village 100 km south of Phnom Penh.

Thalia introduced me to +Veroncia Ventura who runs 'Village Health and Community Development organisation.

Their mission statement on their website goes like this:

Our Mission is to bring health care to the school children of Cambodia by establishing clinics directly on the school campus. We have initiated 6 programs.

They basically build a clinic and library next to the school where they then employ nurses and provide books for the library. This is extremely important since these little villages are very remote.

Getting there from the mainroad took about 20 minutes on a scooter over winding dirt roads. These structures really make a big difference for the villagers living around the school.

Agathian's Shelter in Kuala Lumpur

This was the first stop on my tandem challenge. It came recommended to me by +Ronnie Oh who lives in Kuala Lumpur and connected with me on google plus (+The Social Traveler). 

I arrived at this orphanage with my first tandem buddy Ana and we were welcomed with open arms by the kids and the people that are running this place. The kids are provided with a roof over their head, food and a basic education.

Ana and I stayed with them for a few days. We took all of the kids for a ride around the blok on the tandem bike, which was a lot of fun. After that we played some games together, we spent time talking english and we ate the same food and slept on the same little mattresses just like they do. 

These kids are really awesome and this place really deserves some extra help since they completely rely on donations and gifts.
